The Earring Queen Speaks

Hi! Welcome to my blog. I'm the other half of Jewelry24Seven.com, a very popular website featuring handmade jewelry. Bob usually handles all the web stuff, like posting to his blog and writing articles, but I thought it was time for me to take a more active role in talking about our jewelry designs and what we do, separately and as a team.

Like Bob, I've been designing, making and selling jewelry for about 30 years. We've worked local flea markets and fairs, sold on eBay (our first sale was a pair of my earrings!), worked street fairs all over Manhattan. Now we have our website, Jewelry24Seven.com, and we sell our handmade jewelry on Etsy.

The "Earring Queen" thing started off as kind of a private joke about 15 years ago. We were preparing for a weekend craft fair and needed to fill out the earring display. I went into overdrive, churning out a couple of dozen pairs a day for weeks. It was practically becoming an obsession, but I was having a blast, wire-wrapping hoops and making crystal dangles. The rack got full and I kept making earrings. When Bob asked why I was making so many, I told him that I wanted to be The Earring Queen of Cyberspace. The legend was born!

On my "about me" page, I mention that I personally have about 300 pairs of earrings. Bob thinks that's a low estimate, so one of my current projects is to get all my earrings together in one place and count them once and for all. He may be right - I have earrings to go with practically everything I own. I've even been known to make a pair if I can't find something the right color or shape to go with what I want to wear. Obsessive? Maybe - but that's why I'm the Earring Queen! I'll report back on my progress periodically.
That's it for now - thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. I hope you'll come back often to see what I have to say.
